Lori's Birthday!
Happy Birthday Lori! We celebrated by staying around the campsite, playing music. While we opted to Not go to Church with Steve and Susie, we did play several gospel songs. We got several positive comments about our music.
Steve had been planning a Big Jam for several weeks for today. The rain held off until just before the jam was to begin. It would not rain enough so we could decide to move the venue...just spit a little then almost stop. Finally we moved from the fire pit to th other Rec hall. So we were a little late in starting.
There were about 15 musicians. This was an electrified Jam, with amps, mics and the such. One musician was a steel player. He was good and Not overpowering for a change.
Steve and Dick's son Bill had made arrangments so Dick could see his granddaughters who live here in Florida, whom he had not seen for over 30 years! They came in as Dick was singing 'Who Left the Door to Heaven Open'. There was not a dry eye in the house! Dick was pretty shocked but pleased. They all left to do some catching up at Steve's camper. I was the first musician to follow that. Singing was difficult.
We broke for lunch and some of the musicians left along with some audience. We remaining people played another hour or more. It was getting dark by the time we got packed up and back to the campsite. Lori felt that her birthday was well celebrated!
I had paid for one week of Internet. We knew it would expire sometime Sunday afternoon. It had by the time we got back. I gave Lori another birthday present of one more day online. She was able to get all the birthday wishes emailed to her! She had a big smile on her face!
This has been a great week with Steve, Susie, Little Susie and especially Dick! I am so happy that we stopped here.
